Thanks for the link
Very interesting development, I'm sure it'll make the demise of point and shoot cameras even more imminent (I don't consider serious compacts as P&S). Quality at low ISO's is really impressive, I can see how landscape photographers will love this! After a little bit of sharpening, the 38mp files should allow for really large prints (there's mention of a 9 metre print in the article?!?!??? but that surely won't be intended to be viewed from up close).

The sample videos at the end on the review are astonishingly good.

I wonder when Nokia can get this into a WP8 phone.
I think a lot of people are put off by this being on a Symbian phone.

I ordered the 808 this afternoon.
Even should Pureview come to WP, it will likely not be in the same form (fewer MP, smaller sensor)
Beside I have 2 Nokia Belle devices and rather like the OS.
The final nail for me was the ich recording, saw a vid of a thunderstorm and the sound alone blew me away.
Hi, my name is Lili and I have a phone problem...

I need a new phone, only make the odd call and text so I don't need a plethora of apps. I think I may get one too when it hits the providers here.

it is fairly thick by 2012 standards for superphones, and quite sold in the hand.
The camera UI is quick and simple, with many adjustments.
The shutter button is excellent.
Not much time this weekend, as you know some stuff to cope with.
more later
