    Pentax releases an "X" camera

Not sure if the "X" moniker is quite justified here, considering it's a small sensor bridge camera. No mention of the actual size of the sensor though apart from it being a "backside-illuminated CMOS sensor"

After reading through the press release, I have come to the conclusion that this camera will be rubbish, and I apologize for bringing it to your notice.

No mention of anything that's important in the release, no sensor size, no details on aperture, no "A" mode on the main dial, which translates to Pentax not getting my money.

The only positives seem a nice wide 22.3mm wide angle lens and a 250$ price tag.

Its just going to be a tarted up X90. A basic bridge camera with a P&S sensor. The X70 and X90 werent much chop, so I dont expect this will be either... except... Ricoh may have had some input... so maybe wait and see.

it's new camera release avalanche time. It's easy to get excited, but the more I see of "new cameras", the more i realize it's just the same old crap being fed to us with a brand new spoon.
