Thread: Serious Compacts Donation System

As our server and maintenance (site software, upgrades) costs increase, I have been looking into options for covering those costs, including sponsors (eg, Lensbaby) and affiliate partnerships. At the same time, we have been careful to avoid annoying popup ads and to avoid or minimize distracting advertisements on the discussion thread pages.

Some members have made direct donations to support Serious Compacts, and these donations have been very helpful in meeting our operational costs.

Members receive the following perks for a minimum of one year following a donation:

• 5x greater storage space in our photo gallery*
• 5x greater attachment space*
• 10x larger private message inbox*
• User title of "Donor"
• Removal of left column banner ads**

It may take up to a day for these changes to occur since everything is done manually.

**Donors do not get an "ad-free" site. Affiliate links are a necessary part of site fund raising, and donors will still see these and certain other forms of advertising. However, donors see fewer ads, eg removal of left column banner ads on the site main page.

I had never noticed that little green text "Donate" tab along the top submenus before. Glad I saw it today. Here's a bump in case others have missed it, too. Seriously.....how could I have NOT seen it....it's green.
