Hello!
I'm Paul, 25 years old and living in a small city in the south of the Netherlands. I've always been interested in photography, but started to do something with it when I acquired an Olympus XZ-1 about a year ago (also still own a Canon Powershot A530). I find the JPEG's of the XZ-1 dissapointing sometimes, so I started shooting RAW and doing a little editing in Lightroom, which also is very nice to do!
A few months ago I discovered serious compacts and really liking the atmosphere here, so recently I decided I will learn more by signing up and posting images! I'm very excited what everybody will think of my photo's!

PJacobs, you've probably noticed that there are some other XZ-1 shooters here, as well as plenty of RAW and Lightroom folks, as well. One of the highlights of this forum, in my opinion, is that there is such a wide cross section of members - from all different parts of the world, different walks of life and each one of us is somewhere on the continuum of enjoying photography.
Thanks so much for taking the time to introduce yourself and please make yourself at home.

Welcome Paul. The jpeg engine is often a strong point of Olympus' cameras. It's too bad they apparently didn't do such a good job with the XZ-1. But for what I've seen of it that's a fine little camera, that I'm sure you'll keep enjoying.

Welcome, Paul. The XZ-1 is a really competent camera (and I would dispute that the jpeg engine isnt as good, Julien!!) Looking forward to seeing some of your shots, Paul :)
