I guess a little hello is in order since I just joined the Forum. HELLO Everyone. I've always been interested in photography and have taken pride in taking better than average photographs but have always had to many other expensive hobbies to put money towards an SLR over the past ten years, when a compact or superzoom would do. After Lusting for dof and bokeh i got a NikonD90 and a 35mm1.8DX. I've been shooting with that prime for a year now and have really tried studying photography theory and technique over the past year. Then as with most people I learned that the camera must be with me all the time but the SLR wasn't so practical. I found a deal on the Ricoh GRD and took on another fixed lens camera. This site has been great reading through and learning a few things about the flaws/benefits of Serious Compacts. Hopefully compacts won't effect my artistic integrity through ease of use.

Hi,
I have followed Serious Compacts since it started off and have been a (limited) contributor on the old webpage but time restraints meant I did not get to post enough there.
The Ricoh GRD I was my 2nd camera and first serious compact after the Pentax S40 and since I have used and still use all of Ricoh's serious compacts as well as the Panasonic LC1 (although this is not really compact) and the GF1. My only other camera is a Epson RD1 but I would not qualify it as a serious compact.
I am using my serious compacts to take pictures every day and post on my blog an when I find the time I write some reviews and articles about them.
The forums here looks like a good place to talk about the serious compacts but also about photography.

Cristian, thank you so much for your "re-introduction" here on the renewed Serious Compacts! You are hereby officially welcomed!
I just clicked on your Flickr stream and was immediately drawn in by the thumbnail of "White Sheep" - what a phenomenal scene and the picture is wonderful! I can see I'm going to be spending some time in there looking around. I also look forward to your involvement here and hope you'll post some of your pictures in the threads here, too.
Glad you have found your way back here, Cristian.

Thanks for the warm welcome and your help with my missing posts. I will surely participate more here in the forums.
Thanks, this is one of my LC1 pictures I took while in Scotland, it's a great place to visit and also for photography.
Btw. I am pretty bad at updating my Flickr galleries so you'll find most of my work on my blog.
