Bill,

too small and hunched up for Goldeneye Bill, plus the colouring is wrong plus the bill is wrong... looks like a Little Grebe to me

My first ducklings of the year
My first ducklings of the year, seen on a local farm pond this morning. I've not found the species in Collins, so am assuming it's Rubberus duckii
These four were quite adventurous and out on their own
This one kept close to Mother

Bill, thankfully the pond is far too small for those guys, they won't come anywhere near it, hurray for that.

A common silver gull. Not much else about today. Shot with the K-5, and instead of photoshop, I used Pixelmator. Then exported, and processed further in snapseed.
