Ray, another FAB set....anoher benchmark for aspiring street shooters (and don't say it ain't so) The one with the young boy spinning a plate and the guy looking up is.....frankly....astonishing. The grumpy looking old dear slumped in her chair is a marvellous one too. Love it!
Norman, the shot of the tw lasses smoking is a cracker too. Could be any town in the UK of course, but the shot is uniquely yours.
Karen, maybe my eyes are bust...but it looks focussed to me. I have certainly posted much worse before. This shot has a distinctly 1920's/30's feel to it and I cannot think why. But I like it a lot.

My wife and I headed into the city yesterday to watch the Olympics on big screen outside City Hall. We wanted to soak up the atmosphere amongst our fellow country folk and the myriad tourists from all over the world. Indulged in some street shots on way there and back.
Captain Kidd Pub (after pirate who was hanged nearby I believe)

I had flipped by this photo dozens of times, but when I went to pick a photo that represented Italy to me, I realized it was just a bit washed out. I used Snapseed to bring up the true color. Larger version here. And yeah, for Venice, this is street....

Pete- beautiful set, I love the tonal contrast, the immediacy and the intimacy of the photos--great shots!

Not sure how I missed this set back at the beginning of the month. I quite like it, nearly every shot. The color shot is my least favorite and its just fine.
I haven't done much street shooting in a few weeks - I may head into Philly tomorrow or the next day to work those muscles a bit. Haven't done a day in Philly since my month in New York - I need to get back to my familiar spots. Here's the only street shot I came back with from a few days at the shore earlier last week. I don't know if I've ever seen anyone eating an ice cream cone with so much attitude!

Yep, that's great timing Ray. Nice post too and I like the shadows that sunlight is casting.

The 2nd shot was taken with the Panasonic GF3 and 20mm pancake. Came close to selling that camera because it would not autofocus quick enough for my always on the move style. Then I turned on Q-AF and it now it works pretty well. I still get a few blurred shots but I think with a bit of time I'll reduce the chances of that happening by quite a margin. Q-AF does not really seem to impact battery life much either which is good. I know I could zone focus with this camera but that seemed pointless when the Sony 5N does that job very well but with an APS-C sensor.
