    Hey paulin,
This is one of the best processign I have ever seen. They look like Film.
Can you give us some tips how you did it ?

    Thanks so much!
I had a little help by some presets :) but there's a couple of things going on.

"VSCO Film" are some really nice presets for film look. One big advantage is that they're presets for Lightroom. So the image isn't prerendered and sent to an external plugin, but rather everything stays editable.

Which was very handy on these shots, as I shot them with two different lenses with quite different characteristics.
01, 03 and 04 have been shot with an old mamyia/sekor 55mm 1.8 screw-mount lens. Which is quite soft, both in focus and contrast. Which is a good starting point for a filmic look.
02 and 05 have been shot with the Sigma 30mm 2.8, which is much sharper and contrastier.
So I adjusted the Sigma shots to match better, but I think they could still do with a bit of work :)

Some of the main areas that VSCO is changing is
    1) the RGB curves. It's lifting the blacks and lowering the whites into the typical S-curve - with "toe" and "shoulder" (leaving the mid-section of the curve linear)
By doing this slightly different for R,G and B you get tints in the shadows and the highlights

    2) reducing the saturation for a lot of the HSL colours - but reducing it the least amount for the reds.
(Mostly making sure that there are no overly saturated colurs in there.)

I'm not at home at my computer now, but I can have a closer look when I'm back. Hope this still helps! :)

    cheers,
    Tilman
