Aster,I welcome direct eye contact. It generally makes for a more immediate moment. As long as I don't feel like I am assaulting them like Eric Kim does,I seek it out by getting as close as I can to a subject without being obnoxious.I'm working on my nerve,he he.

Gary, dogs move too fast! A second after I took this,he licked my camera!Yes, the burn in is too obvious.I only recently discovered I could do this. Now I need to learn to do it less conspicuously.

The dog's head and the guys shoulder are pretty easy if you're using PS. Simply select the sky (for the shoulder), then do an inverse and burn, the darkening won't effect sky. Put the darkening amount pretty low, like around 10% to 20%, that way you'll be forced to make multiple passes with periodic review.
Good luck.

I don't have PS.In lightroom, I'm using the little wand that is rather imprecise. That's the problem. I can barely manage LR, but I'll look into PS.
