OK, I have a bit more time this morning and I used an adapted lens (the Pentax M 50 mm f4 macro) and the electronic shutter is absolutely soundless, as it should be. This means that the custom function that is supposed to use the electronic shutter as the default isn't working as advertised with the kit prime. It probably means that some other setting is interfering with it, so i will go search. BTW, the Fotodiox Q to K adapter has a built in tripod mount, which is a really nice touch given the light weight of the Q.

Here's a macro taken with an adapted lens, 50 mm. This is a 275 mm (35 mm equivalent).

Focus is really hard but you can get a 4 x magnification assist in MF. One interesting problem is that the diffraction limit for this small a sensor cuts in around 2-2.8. An f4 macro is actually beginning to lose sharpness wide open!

Some more normal shots with the kit prime, the f1.9, 8.5 mm (47 equivalent). I tried to find a range of images.

    Thanked by Luke.

Well, I had a little over 2000 points ($76) needing to be spent and this presented the perfect (BS) opportunity. I just got an RX100 yesterday too....which I think is very very nice.
