It's a very specialized place here given that Compacts covers a big range of brands and camera capabilities. I did my second review for Amin here and it's quite diverse. Nice folks and at mu-43.com as well. It's like a quiet club. :)

I've been quiet lately on Serious Compacts. I read the discussions but don't often post messages. Not sure why. I do miss the weekly challenges, I keep forgetting the fortnightly one.
Cheers, Karen

Doesn't a big range make it a very generalised place though?
and Karen - you haven't been quiet on Flickr, I'm sure your yearly Festival Fiesta of Street Photography deserves it's own thread here too?

+1 I was just on Karen's stream yesterday, saw the street shots, and was like how did I miss this?! Good stuff.

I don't think there is anything to worry :)
Everything is relative - I don't find it particularly slow here.
(But then again, I'm a slow person... probably the reason why I'm still shooting the old Sigma DP's ;)
I quite like the atmosphere here. Very friendly and welcoming. (Veeery friendly compared to a certain big forum :)
I guess a lot of us are just more visual people. Better with images than with words...
So less (writing) can be more... And sometimes it's just about enjoying the silence (ooh, gotta put that CD on again sometime... :)
cheers,
Tilman

I like it here. Quiet is not always a bad thing. I am mad busy at work and I need an antidote!
BUT there are exciting developments on the horizon... Photokina is just around the corner...

Not to get off this site as a topic but one site that's quite friendly but has gotten increasingly quiet over the past year or two is the forum section at Steve's Digicams. So quiet that I'm beginning to worry about them.

I didn't realize Steve's Digicams was even still around. Waaaaay back in my point and shoot days, very early into digital, I used to read his reviews when I was about to buy a cheap camera. But its been a long time since I've been there. I'll have to check it out again...

I think it is quieter round here than normal, but then I'm very busy so I'm not doing a lot of responding. Its the same old story, if you want it busier, post more and respond more. I'm not really able to engage much at the moment, the odd couple of words here and there to show I'm appreciating folks pictures. I also have little or nothing to say about most of the compact systems, I'm only familiar with the one I've got. That's not a surly "don't care", I just don't know what I'm talking about, so I don't.
I do think we are suffering for the lack of the weekly challenge though.

It's quieter here because we don't feed the trolls like they do at DPR and they all starved to death here.
