Yeah, maybe, but I am bit the same with lenses as I am with cameras. Find it difficult to let go. I sold my Tamron 70-300 and 18-250 and wish I had not. Cannot get the latter anymore, nor its Pentax equivalent, they are like hens teeth.

Life is full of regrets.... at least selling a lens and then missing it is a small one.

True, but I'm not slitting my wrists over it. I sold the 18-250 to a friend and I reckon he'd sell it back to me because he prefers his fuji HS20 these days.

And thats what I did today. The FA has gone to a new home, and I have bought a new iPhone 4S (didnt want the 5).

In the meantime, now having the Horusbennu *and* a K55... must make a decision about which is best. and decide which of my other lenses need to go. the DA15 is up on gumtree now, no enquiries thus far but I expect there will be, sometime.

congrats on the phone. WIth all the great camera gear you have, it makes sense to do a little liquidation. A phone you use every day....most of those cameras are just sitting most of the time. Do you have a grand plan worked out for whittling down the collection or are you taking one step at a time?

One step at a time, Luke. I tried putting all my pentax gear up a couple of weeks ago and all I got were idiots and scammers. Advertising things separately seems to generate genuine enquiries. The lad I sold the 43 to does wedding photography and wanted that f/l for some of his indoor stuff. I didnt get as much as I would have liked, but it was acceptable.

Still no enquiries about the 15 but the nice thing about gumtree is that the ad goes for 6 weeks and they send you an email toward the end of that time to remind you to repost, so you dont have to remember. I think I'll put the 55-300 up this weekend. Another lens I thought I wanted but am not using. ah well. I may even sell the 35mm macro LTD.

I think, in the end, I'll probably have the X-pro and the X-S1. I may even end up selling the x100 if I get the xpro. The xz and GRD... hmm... uncertain at this time. I carry them all the time.

I have thought about the X100 and the X-S1 as a 2 camera combo. It would absolutely eliminate LBA and GAS......no lenses to change (or buy). You'd have the awesome IQ for normal focal lengths (which for me is around 80% of what I do) and a really good quality jack of all trades in the X-S1.

I'm trying to think minimal....less is more. Sounds like you have a good plan.

You have the pro, don't you? I love the IQ coming from that but you are right, perhaps the x100 and the X-S1 would be sufficient. I've had a look at it, and the viewfinder isn't too bad. Not nearly as good as the Oly viewfinders but still, not bad for what it is, and streets ahead of my Panny FZ100 (might try to sell that soon, again)...

I HAD the Pro. It's lovely and amazing...... and was a big chunk of money tied up. I sold it and regret it a little bit, but the X100 is IQ enough and will keep me from wanting 3 different Fuji lenses that are $500 each. That is part of the allure of the X100 for me (not that it needs more allure). There's nothing else to buy for it. I don't need to add any lenses. And I'm never wondering if I should switch lenses for the next shot. I find that I carry it all the time, and I start to see shots quicker. I guess I work better with restraints.
    Thanked by kyteflyer.
