Thread: Images from a Ghost town

These images were taken in France at a place called Oradour s/ Glane. This village was destroyed by the Germans on 10th June 1944 killing nearly 700 inhabitants. The village has been left as it was after the clear up and remains a ghost town as a remembrance and can be visited. If you ever go to France you must go!!

Where in France? What is the nearest big town?

I've heard about this but your pictures really capture the memorial nature of this place. Although time and weather have taken their toll it remains a sad reminder of what happened there

It's not far from Bellegarde airport. A bit in the middle of nowhere really. Check it out on google maps... https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en
