*1 Fujifilm research as of November 2012. Compared with other compact digital cameras equipped with an APS-C sensor and a non-interchangeable lens based on CIPA standards and conducted in High Performance mode.
That's really funny - how many other cameras fit this criteria? Let's see...
Fuji X100
Leica X1
Leica X2
Sigma DP1/DP2
Sony R1
Any others?
In other words, this isn't exactly the Kentucky Derby...

Sorta like winning gold in the Special Olympics.

And the prize for the fastest focusing camera starting with "F" and ending with "ujifilm FinePix X100s" goes to...
All jokes aside though, I believe that the 0.08 seconds quoted is a very close to the figures thrown about in relation to the latest Micro 4/3 cameras.

Well... there's no way I can afford to start a Fuji system in addition to my Pentax and micro four-thirds kits. So that's why this X100s, which won't require me to buy any additonal lenses, is sooooooooooo attractive. Gad, I just can't take it anymore...

That was my main problem with the X100, the focus speed and missed focus, now look what they have done! it's not fair! Would love one for my UK trip in June but need to save spending money, what to do? lol when does it come out??
Current gear: Panasonic LX7, Fuji X100, Fuji X-E1, Fuji XP50

I love all of the new features and upgrades, except for this X-Trans II CMOS whatever. Lightroom still doesn't support this well enough, IMO. The X100S will be bundled with Silkypix as usual, and I will be very surprised if Fuji gives proper data to Adobe for future versions of LR.
For the next few days I'm only shooting with the X100, as I have packed my bags to go overseas, which includes my other cameras. I'm really enjoying the feel of shooting with just the X100, and I'm sure that those who are satisfied with the jpegs or processed raws will be very happy with the X100S.
Notice how it is still only in 'steel' colour? Wait for another nine months and they will release a black limited edition again.

The release pace of "improved versions" by camera makers starts to resemble the one practiced by the computer industry. Time to adjust buying habits: Buy at substantial discounts 9-12 months after new products were released and skip one if not at least two generations of "improvements".
