    Samsung NX1000

    Hi All

Im looking at getting a new camera and what something like a DSLR and the Compact Systems are looking great. The Samsung NX1000 ticks most the boxes but i found out that the adapter for using Pentax lenses can only operate the manually and auto focus does not work is this right?

also does anyone have the viewfinder? whats it like? as cant find reviews.

    cheers

Why the need for using old lenses ?? I'm using the samsung NX20 and the lenses that are available are perfect...
The EVF is a standard option

The 18-55 standard lens is versatile enough to start with... Or do you have a load of pentax glass in your shed ??

    Hi Nuskyn,

Reason for old lenses are for price range as the Samsung Macro lens is around £500, I know it's an investment but it's my first big step into intermediate DSLR and i need to make sure its right before i spend a ton of money.

I've been looking at the Compact DSLR because their easy for travel and a good start for beginners/Intermediate I looked at the Sony NEX5 great camera for photo and video only problem is AVCHD on Mac don't work and i don't want to mess around with converting the file, but the lens adapter for it does auto focus with the Sony range of lens available.

Is their any main difference with the NX1000 and NX200 or is it just the body? as I know with the NX20 you get the fold able view screen and view finder.

I think its hard to find the difference between the nx1000 and the nx200

    Samsung NX1000 vs NX200 - Our Analysis

For me, the tiltscreen on the NX20 is a very BIG plus on this camera, especially for low angle shots (macro, close up)

    Hi Cooke69

As with all adapters when going from one platform to another they don't speak the same language so it reverts to the most rudimentary level of mechanics. Don't worry though, I am using a Rollei 50mm Planar as well as a Samyang 8mm fisheye on mine with little issue. Coming soon is a L39 mount Jupiter-8

    Regards
    Darren

Correct. The adapter only allows manual settings. But you can change the f/stop. This applies to the Samsung ED-MA9NXK Camera Lens Accessory for NX. There are a couple less expensive options available from third parties but I can't speak to those.

There is no EVF for the NX200, 210, or 1000 camera. It only works on the NX100. Its not bad but its not great. The refresh rate is slow by today's standards but it is more than adequate for what it is. If you want a dedicated EVF chose the NX5, 10, 11, or 20. All those models have the EVF built-in.
