    Nikon 1 V1 and astrophotography

    Hello,
I do astro photography. I have access to a Nikon 1V1 I have an adaptor to attach the camera without a lens to my telescope. How can I get the camera to operate without feedback from a lens?

    Thanks
    David

    Hello,

The only solution I could come up with is you need to first use Nikon's FT-1 Mount Adapter. Then adapt the standard Nikon "F" mount to a "T" mount adapter which is pretty standard for scope adapters. Nikon is not clear how the camera will act with a none electronic lens attached. Nikon lists several legacy AI lens as being supported. The optional FT1 mount adapter allows NIKKOR F mount lenses to be used with Nikon 1 cameras equipped with a Nikon 1 mount.

I wanted to add that I could not get this to work to my satisfaction. While physically everything connects together with an optical path, Nikon limits the shutter speed to less than 1 (1/1.3 or faster) second with the FT-1 connected. I have seen a Nikon 1 to T mount adapter which might work while allowing you to keep the shutter open longer.
    Thanked by Herman.
