Thread: X-100 wide angle conversion lens...

Fuji seems to have snuck a 28mm conversion lens in under the rug for X100 owners for whom 35mm just wasn't quite cutting it:

This lens leaves me with very mixed feelings. If they'd come out with it before I bought the X-Pro 1, I might have saved a boatload of money. OTOH, I might not have the X-Pro 1 now either. I'm happy with where I am but might have been very close to as happy if I could have used my X100 at a 28mm FOV...

Aw.. why'd they have to go and do that? I've been containing my X100 lust based on the lens not being wide enough

Interesting - now lets see what the pricing structure is and if it is justified?

This was on Photography Monthly magazine today:

"The WCL-X100 is expected to go on sale in August for around £249 but this is subject to change".

Guess it must be brandy brand new; don't see any listings with the usual suspects.

I read this via my iPhone and almost logged on, I was so excited! I hope it's not super duper expensive. I am extremely interested in this...why? I love that slightly wider angle...yes, my X10 has it, but I'd love to have the IQ of my X100 at that wider angle when I want it. Fingers crossed on the price tag.
