love the first one! Were you standing in the middle of the river or was it taken from a bridge?

It's something of an illusion, there is no bridge, however there's a section of river bank that's a bit rocky and has a couple of trees on it that juts out into the river. With the lens on the DP1M being moderately wide angle you get the effect as seen of being well out into the flow.
It's interesting that you prefer that one, the other two shots seem to have lost a degree of sharpness in the downsizing process. I've noticed this with a few others, the original tiff is very sharp, but sometimes the effect is lost in the downsized image which then detracts from their quality. Another good reason to judge a camera or lens from a print, or at least a crop taken from part of the image I would suggest.
If anyone has any thoughts about this I'd be happy if they'd share them.

Looking at it again, I agree that the first of those three is the sharpest, but for me personally what made the first one more appealing than the others was the unusual effect of the composition I hadn't even noticed the sharpness difference.
I'm no expert on sharpening etcetera, I sometimes read about people using bicubic sharpening algorithms or stuff like that, I have no idea what it does or how it's different from other sharpening methods

This is the one forum I know with a thriving Sigma DP thread, and long may it continue.
My DP2x again delivered on a typical UK overcast day finding variation and texture in otherwise dull conditions.

My wife brought home some flowers today, gave me a chance to play around with the DP2S. I really love the images it produces.

Managed to get a half decent shot today. Weather was really dull and misty but at least the rain stopped!

Keeping the (legacy) DP image thread going with one of London's River Lea from November 2011:
