    Manual focusing with RX100

I just purchased an RX100. I have figured out focus peaking. However, when I put the camera in manual mode and turn the dial on the front of the camera, the image on the display zooms. I do not want this and cannot figure out how to turn it off. Can someone help me out?

Welcome to the SC. You can customize the front lens dial in the menu. I remember that they give you limited choices. I don't know if that includes the turning off also. You can check or other customization options. Enjoy your new camera.

Are you in manual mode or manual focus mode? IIRC, in manual focus mode, you can only use the front ring for focus. In manual mode on the mode dial, it will still do whatever it's otherwise designated to do.
