    X10....O.K. I'm in

After struggling with issues with my D-Lux 5 since February, I finally threw in the towel and returned the second one and replaced it with the X10. The Leica took beautiful images (except for the black blobs in the pictures after being repaired) but I couldn't learn to "get over" the LCD smearing issues after the second camera. The new X10 arrived today at work and after unpacking it I was pleasantly surprised on the quality of construction and the comfortable fit it had in my hands. Tonight I'll spend a few hours learning the menu and functions and this weekend I'll begin shooting some images. Hopefully I'll even be able to post some May Challenge pics before the deadline of next Thursday.

    Congrats John,

I have the X10 as my sole digital and I've yet to be disappointed - especially armed with a tiny Bip (soft release) and Gordy strap ;)

No orbs yet but she's getting a sensor replacement as soon as the newbies hit our Aussie shores.

No place is boring, if you've had a good night's sleep and have a pocket full of unexposed film.

Thanks Mark, so far I've added the GGS Optical Glass LCD Screen Protector and the light brown leather case. I haven't decided yet whether or not I'm going to stick to the neck strap or go back to the the wrist strap. So far I'm really impressed with the picture quality and the ease of use of the menu functions and it feels just soooo nice in my hands. Oh and the OVF is impressive even though it doesn't show any info with the clarity and brightness.

Welcome to the X10 club! It is such an amazing little camera, which has rekindled my passion for photography. It certainly demands attention especially with accessories. So far I have a glass screen protector, a leather case and a Gariz lens cap retainer. Next will be a cable release, a soft release, maybe a thumbs up.....
Not sure what to do about the sensor replacement as yet, as I haven't experienced the orbs first hand.
    Enjoy your new toy.

    Cheers

Hello John, congrats on your new gear, the X10. I think it's a nice retro alike little camera. Oh yes, I prefer cocktail hour too. (great shot) Which cameras did you have before, a Pan G1 maybe?
