    Ah, yes. Leica. Far be it from me to criticize any of their products. But in listening to the CEO, I am reminded that Leica essentially has no choice but to position themselves as an ultra-high end company and charge for their wares accordingly. Not that Leicas could ever be considered inexpensive for any given time in the company's history. But competition - and good products - from Asia presented them with a choice: Move most of their production to Asia and begin building cameras and lenses to a price point... or use the ultra-luxury business model. If Leica wasn't getting $8,000 for camera bodies and $2,000-$3,000 for lenses they'd be out of business, like so many other makers of fine equipment.
