    musconetcong river house BW P1030465

An old tavern (left) with the adjoining lockkeeper's home (right). This is along the Musconetcong River, part of which was in use as the Morris Canal from circa 1830-1920. The Morris Canal bisected NJ from Pennsylvania's Lehigh Valley to Jersey City (near NYC), providing eastward transport of coal and westward transport of iron products.

Nice shot. Tonally quite beautiful with intriguing subject matter -- and that brooding sky!

    Lone tree

You've probably seen this tree before. However hopefully with this attempt from about 3 days ago I've worked on both the initial exposure and subsequent processing to retain detail in the shadows and stop them blocking up. With some guidance off the internet I've experimented with the Colour Equaliser facility in AfterShot Pro to darken the blue sky and lighten the foliage. The hedge on the left was otherwise in deep shadow.

    Thanks Luke,
E-M5, Settings: 1/4000, ƒ/3.2, ISO 200, 20 mm Lumix - the lens on the camera most of the time, but thinking I'm going to splurge on an Oly 12mm soon and then things will likely change.

Nik Silver Efex Pro 2 filter 024, Full Contrast & Structure. Love this filter, reckon I use it way too much, but I like it and that's what counts.

    Cheers, Mike
    Thanked by Luke.
