Thanks guys.
I was asked by friends to be photog for the day and despite some initial doubts it turned out great, the fact that I'm just Uncle Joe helped I guess as I've been in many ways as much a part of these kids lives as their parents...most of whom Ive known since we were kids this young ourselves. The parents loved the images and a few are headed off to print which is nice. I'm glad some of the love managed to shine through.
Was trying out a new bit of kit today, but here there is certainly no love between photog and subject !
that 100-300 lens is the one thing I miss most about the m43 format. The quality for that focal length at that price point is unmatchable. Nice, gritty shots.
Yeah having a 200-600mm eq focal range is really interesting and very far removed to all my other lenses. I'm going to have a bit of time with this lens over the summer and I'd really like to experiment and see how I can use it in ways other than wildlife/birding. I'm heading up into alpine high-country with friends for a few weeks shortly so that'll be a nice environment to really give it a go.
