Thanks, Nic. I tend to gravitate toward bright images, and there was plenty of brightness in that scene with the snow.

snowy scenes are excellent candidates for b/w. So often the snow has a blue color cast anyways. And rarely is there much color in the winter....best to just remove it and let the lines and composition speak for itself.
