Wonderful pictures, all. There is something visceral about monochrome that cuts to the heart of the matter better than color.Special thanks to Krugorg for those bleak and beautiful images of Minnesota in the winter. My wife's family settled there as immigrants and these images say a lot about the difficulty that must have entailed.Iansky, thanks for showing me the charm and beauty of the UK,even through the rain it shines.
Luke,
I have revisited your haunting pic many times, never without tears.I have combed over every detail, from your wife's face of despair and exhaustion, to her clenched hands. To her frail mother sinking into her bedding as she slowly withdraws from this world. On the bedstand a glass of water, kleenex, and a vase of flowers. We all share the grief and loss as so tenderly expressed in your picture. It's one of those shots that you may only look at every ten or twenty years,or never again, too painful. But it is so important, and you captured it so well for all time.May you and yours find peace at the end of this great tribulation.

I echo David's statements. Luke, I only have admiration for you on posting the image of your wife. It must have been a tough call to go public with such a private matter. I doubt I would even take such a photo much less publish it. I wish for nothing but the best for you and wife and perhaps a miracle for your Mother-in-Law.
