The Monarch caterpillars completely stripped a Milkweed plant in the backyard. Yesterday I spent the morning herding about 30 caterpillars to different Milkweeds.

Interesting to compare - taken from a distance with a fixed 300mm f4 + x1.4TC = 420mm @ 1/125sec and f5.6 at ISO 400
Cropped to 1 x 1 and a little PP
Handheld, but I was lucky to keep it still at this speed
Bright frosty morning shooting into a dark area with the sun shining on the fence post
spot exposure and focusing ......... I was tracking a bird, (the feathered variety)
Cheated as I use a DSLR - D300
