Test shot with NEX-3 + my latest lens: the very rare Minolta MD 135mm f2.0 (yeah I'm into 135mm lenses lately). ISO 800, f2, 1/250s. First legacy lens that I find usable wide open.

Your cat is hypnotic :) and the back lighting really puts him into perspective.

Introductory pics of my trio!
This thread is full of fantastic captures of many, many obviously beloved and pampered kitties. Here are some of my trio that I've taken over the last few months.
Two-year-old sisters Pearl (grey) and Ella. They were abandoned at 2wks of age and rescued by my vet. I adopted them when they were almost 8wks and weighed just 2.2lbs. each. My now 12-yr-old Ben and I had lost his brother about six months before and needed a dose of "new joy," hence the addition of these wonderful girls. They're tiny, perhaps due to their early abandonment and resulting malnutrition. Ella weighs just 7lbs., and Pearl is about 6lbs. I call them my "tea-cup kitties," but demitasse might be more appropriate, as I'm a coffee drinker. Please click for larger sizes; full EXIF available at Picasaweb and G+ (see my sig).
Pearl and Ella during a brief wrestling pause (E-PM1 & 17/2.8):

Ben having a stretch and a yawn after his nap (E-PM1 & 17/2.8):

Ben and Pearl having a stare-down (E-PM1 & 40-150R):

Ella caught in the act of plotting a pounce on a sleeping Ben (E-PM1 & 14-42IIR):

Back-lit Ben just up from a nap (E-PM1 & 17/2.8):

Pearl keeping me company while I fold laundry (E-PM1 & 45/1.8):

Ella's right eye was in focus till she pulled her head back and yawned just as I snapped the shutter. Looks to me like she's having a hearty laugh, so missed focus or not, I love this shot of my Ella. (E-PM1 & 45/1.8):

Sisters watching the birds in the morning breeze (E-PM1 & 45/1.8):
