thanks Antonio.
The guy and the scooter is only "almost" - he had a damn great CanoNikon tele pointed at the Vespa but by the time I got the camera up he'd moved!

Antonio you flatter me ... I love this little series of yours, especially that woman's smile, but also how you've handled all the different tones and te DOF in "Franky's"

This is my first outing in this forum. Here is one from the first roll of 35mm I have developed in 20 years. I'll post a few more as I get the hang of this whole develop/scan/touch up workflow .

Thanks Paul,
The film was HP5 and developer Ilford LC29. I can't quite work out why some came out ultra grainy like this one and others were quite clear. Aperture used maybe? Does lens choice affect grain?

Lens no, exposure yes - underexposure = more grain as I understand things but you'll have to wait for a properly experienced old hand at this developing game for a proper answer ... from all my reading up, can be be poor temperature handling (thermal "shock" between dev/fix/wash) or choice of developer amongst a zillion other variables ... though if you have grain/not grain on the same roll I'd guess it's exposure.
I've recently joined over at APUG and they're a helpful and incredibly knowledgeable lot (but you mustn't mention the "D" word!)

Thanks Paul,
I have moved the discussion to my film questions thread to save cluttering this one up.
