I always have trouble with the Foma. I've put Kodak Fuji and Ilford in 36s on with no trouble at all. The base is thin and twisty and I think what happens is it jumps the ballbearings.
Very annoying ... But it has lovely tones!

Nice. I always (in my first film incarnation) wanted a Mamiya645 . I had a poke around eBay recently and you can pick up Brnoicas and mamiyas really inexpensively for what they are. But as I have no means of scanning mf and don't have a darkroom I decided to put that on hold.

Lightroom to the rescue this morning, I managed to rescue a few shots ...
this next one crossposted (also in w/nw B&W)
Both with 35mm Summicron
And after all of that, the shots still look great! Love the grain on the second one.

Looking forward to posting when I get the chance to get a roll developed. I shot a 12 roll of Ilford HP5 b&w and did 3 exposures before I realised I had left the dark slide in place (shouldn't have fired though). Live and learn.
I've been toying around with the idea of getting a medium format camera, except that based on my recent history, when picking a camera to go out shooting with I tend to shun anything larger than a 35mm rangefinder (my DSLRs very rarely leave the house these days). I would love one of those Fuji 670 folding cameras, or maybe a Mamiya 6 or 7, except for the price.
Enjoy your Bronica and let's see some photos soon.
Cheers,
Antonio

oh don't get me started on that Fuji folding camera. It haunts my dreams. I don't shoot film and I STILL desire it.

Oh Paul, I'd love it if it were a Kodak. It's just an elegant design.
And really, it's more of a Voigtlander than a Fuji. It's a Bessa III with a different nameplate, I'm pretty sure.

It is the exact same camera as the Bessa, but I thought that the Bessa was a rebadged Fuji and not the other way around. I could be wrong, though.
There's a seller on Ebay that occasionally sells new grey market Fujis for about $1200, but the thought of buying a camera with a mutilated serial number gives me the chills.

I'd probably rather save the $400 myself, but I can see why people would pay the extra money. It is a pretty simple mechanical device. If it works when it arrives, it will likely work for a good, long time. But peace of mind is certainly worth $400 as well.

Funny but I don't see the appeal myself ... not really of TLRs either (I can't rid myself of the perception that they are an "old man's camera" ... but a Bronica, a Mamiya or Hassleblad SLR with waist-level 'finder ... that's the business
