Open Challenges!

Color portraits and or photographs of people

I thought I'd start this off with a photograph I took several years ago on a family vacation using my not so serious Canon Elph. No RAW, didn't even know what it was...just iPhoto, and it remains one of my favorites. Now that I have better software, I might be able to improve it but I think I shall let it stay just the way it is. The print version worked out very nicely and I'm so glad to have it. Please add your photographs to this thread, with or without explanations. I look forward to being able to see many photos here, in time.

Challenge! Guess What and Where

This thread was popular over on "that other forum" so I thought it might be fun here. People are going places again. Something for us Northern Hemisphere-ers in the dark days. The idea is to post a photo of a place and people try to guess the location and/or what it is (see thread title). First answer that satisfies the original poster gets to post the next photo. Hints should be given to keep things moving along. Bonus points for getting it right without google or looking at the exif (but of course the bonus points aren't good for anything but bragging rights anyway) This doesn't mean that you can't use google. You can lean a lot from google. If the winner doesn't have a photo to post right away then they can open it up for anyone to jump in and post one. OK I'll start it off with this one which should be pretty easy.

Fuji Fuji 100-400

Iā€™m trying to decide about a used Fuji 100-400, a new Sigma 100-400 x mount, or none of the above. Any experience, thoughts or random speculation would be welcome. Uses will mainly be birds and wildlife near my rural abode.
