I’m an artist, publisher and university lecturer. I’m very careful about [not] using the term photographer. I’m untrained, self taught and don’t consider myself to be a ‘photographer’. I don’t care much for rules but I love process. If you know a process you have the option of avoiding it, if you don’t then you can never use it.I love cameras both film and digital, information about cameras, image making processes, collecting images and cameras, collecting information, researching and trying to use new technology alongside the old. I take a lot of photographs, to document, to record and to experiment with. Taking photographs [as Susan Sontag mentions in 'On Photography'] is a process that makes me feel like I’m working, when I’m not working.
