Samsung Someone did 16-50 powerzoom review

The 16-50 is pretty darn sharp for a kit lens in my book. Problems are speed and distortion. Man I wish sony could come up with a nice 2.8-4 17-70.

The powerzoom is IMO a good lens, sharp in the center and decent in the corners, already at large apertures. It competes favourably with the 18-55 (perhaps it's a tiny bit slower focusing, but it has better contrast and sharpness in my experience). I much prefer the 16-50 to the 20-50, both for the wider end and for the much faster focusing.

The 16-50s is a total different beast. The best lens I ever owned, IMO. Ultra fast focusing, razor sharp, with limited ca. I love this lens. Only drawback is size, but it enabled me to take pictures of my (ever moving) daughter even in small spaces, at decent iso (1600 and lower, with a shutter of 1/125 or higher).
