Idiocracy.

At least it wasn't Comcast.

Speaking of which. I've been fighting my battles with them for over 4 months now. I have to take off today to get my internet hooked up again because the line keeps getting cut by construction workers. All because Comcast refuses to put a tap next to my house.
 
My solution is not ideal, but it works.

Assume EVERYONE is an absolute imbecile and expect that EVERYTHING will be a complete hassle (and/or totally messed up) and lower your expectations as far as you think you can.

Then lower them again.

And then lower them yet again

Then, and only then, can you even hope to be satisfied.

I've added what works for me. Usually.
 
I had a very similar thing with santander bank. Git a etter quoting my enquiry reference number and I should quote this when calling.

Called them - can I give you a reference number ?

No we can't find it that way .. what's your name and address !!!!!
