OK At this time of writing the GF6 is yet to get to the shops but there is plenty to drool over (or not!) on the internet. I think it looks really nice. The design really makes me want one and seeing as they are damn good value I may well treat myself. It looks like a capable camera with a few flaws (What camera hasn't got flaws!) and a decent size too. Flip screen, 1m dot screen, 16M sensor, new venus engine......Not a bad upgrade.

So what do you guy's think?

I think it's a nice evolution. If I were in the market for a panasonic GF, I'd be inclined to take a look at the deeply discounted GX1. Bodies are now less than $300. Oly Pens are better sensor-wise, and the EPL5/EPM2 are also compelling. My sense is that the GF is going after a market that's less serious than people who post here, not that the camera isn't capable in good hands.

Blimey did i really say that!!:blush: Well all I can say is that it has grown on me somewhat! I really like it now and can't wait to have a play. As for GAS........erm...yes I have it agian!!:D

This is an example of the idea that when you get 3 photographers in a room together, you end up with 5 opinions, lol...

I think most of us look at these new Panasonic offerings and add six months to the release date and take at least half off the price and just start from that point when considering a purchase. Not sure how they compel anyone to buy one right out of the chute?

The anyone/s you are talking about, are not us.:D I think that in 50+ years of photography, I have only bought 2 NEW cameras. But many used ones, including the 3 that my wife and I now own. Although, I just bought a "new" lens tonight, from a forum member that bought it new, and is waiting delivery tomorrow.
