wow, wow, wahow, wow .....and.....WOW
I really, really dig this eclectic.... insane.....wondrous collection. You have a great eye and super technical ability. The stand out one for me is the drum kit with the guy behind looking almost as if he is playing them.

Brilliant

Thanks
Pete

Great work - the RX1 and it's fine ISO has opened up so many new opportunities to take photos, love it
yeah im loving it! tho i was pretty happy with the em5 for high iso low light too. really, MY main fav thing is the lens rendering at low iso(gasp! i actually enjoy low iso shooting! lol)
Nice shots, great atmosphere.

Spent a couple of years in Austin, love the town.
thanks so much! :D
Very nice Eliot! I totally miss Austin!
it misses you too! come visit! and thanks!

there was a shortage of PEOPLE on the streets, so i had to work with what i had
im glad you liked em!
the drumkit was a panic reaction - lol
i was at the prior window trying to find a shot, moved to the drum window, saw the guy just as i shut the camera off and was gonna just pass on that shot till next time.. barely got the cam back turned on in time for the shot.. i looked, only other person walking towards me was wearing all dark clothing.. he wouldnt have showed up as well in the reflection. WHEW! glad i got it! :) lesson.. just keep the camera on! lol
LOVE that backlit tree picture. Man, Austin looks like a warmer Madison WI.
the tree pic feels WEIRD to me, i love it tho
its almost like the TREE is 2D in a 3D world... i dunno how to describe it! but i like how it turned out!

so many good ones I can't single any out. OK, the couple in the embrace in the intersection is awesome, but so are many others.

And Austin DOES look exactly like a warmer version of Madison, WI.

WOW - GREAT set! Lots of very strong stuff, but I particularly like the metrobus, the Chuggin Monkey, the couple on the corner, and the color shot of the State Capitol. I want to re-affirm how easy the camera makes getting some of these kinds of shots, but that would undervalue what you're doing as a photographer and they're great photographs regardless of equipment. But isn't it fun shooting with something that makes these low light shots so relatively effortless?!?!?

gasp! now i feel like i need to visit madison! to a comparison... or try to get extremely similar shots in both cities, and do one of those iphoto books with austin on the left and madison on the right, lol! :D

LOL! i was actually channeling my inner ray sachs on the bus shot! "how they heck does he get the structure to look so.. structured... but not just way overdone feeling?!" i was sliding sliders back n forth all over, and just settled and moved on finally.. lol!
the camera is pretty great! and sometimes i take what i think will just be a snapshot, look at it, and am WOW'd by the lens rendering of something thats a "pic" and its like my brain wants to consider it a "photograph" just because its a GORGEOUS rendering of something stupid and pointless... lol... does that make sense???

sometimes i wish the shutter was a fixed shutter dial and not that misc. dial on the back. i definitely wish the evf was built in(just for aesthetics), and that the af was faster; tho its not bothering me NEARLY like i thought it would(that lens makes some of the shots i DO get look SO amazing i forgive the af system... lol)

Absolutely love the 12th - alley shot.

i love that one, too! im all into alley shots lately! :D

Madison was arranged around a big grand capitol building, with streets radiating out from it. And the cap building was built on top of the hill on the skinny isthmus, so most of the time you look up at it. Also the bars, awesome bikes, students, and generally happy / unique people walking around everywhere, all of it would feel familiar to you (as long as you're wearing a light jacket).

oh nice!
austins basically all radiating south of the cap
i mean, there isnt a big cliff north of it into a black hole or anything... but just not the "city" feel
i generally walk round the lake, then up congress, then cut out halfway to go along 6th, then back up opposite side of 6th, then continue up congress and loop back down south and head to the car which i parked for free on the other side of the lake cause im cheap like that...

$$$ is for cameras, not parking! silly city....
