hope you enjoyed them
or at least got a chuckle out of my blunder :)

either way, have a great night everyone!

That looks like a really fun filter. Hope you aren't too disappointed, they are pretty cool photo!

there were a few that i adjusted the exposure compensation down for dark moodiness... and they didnt turn out too well
but some of them came out prolly better than normal
so it all balances out :)

theres also a "illustration" mode
its basically watercolor, but with black outlines around all the colors... i actually prefer that one generally... tho watercolor could be amazing for landscapes with lotsa colors id imagine!

quick! find me a flower field!
:D

thanks Iso!

hey thanks david!
i think art filters, or whatever, can be pretty fun, and can also get some creative juices flowing for non art filter times as well!

im really getting used to this camera
the af speed isnt even bugging me (unless i use it right after my em5, then im in need of a hug... lol)

have you gotten to play with one in person yet?

Wow! Great set. But I really like the first. Some really nice little towns, in that region of Texas, especially the old court houses. That "onion dome" is much like the Orthodox church domes seen in Alaska.

I'd be bummed if I did that to a whole evening's worth of shooting, but I gotta say, a few of them REALLY work. There's a lot of rustic Americana in the second one and I love the colors in the dress shop (with the two red chairs) and the last couple as well. If you're gonna screw up, may as well screw up interestingly!

yeah, it was weird when i moved to texas and saw all these little towns with courthouse squares... i felt like i was in mayberry or something, lol

i was bummed, but what can you do... and it was only like an hour of my time, and a 12 min drive away.. so i can always go back :) with proper settings! or at least jpg+raw! *rolls eyes at self* lol!
i agree strongly on the screw up interestingly! :D

There are some excellent shots there worth using as a basis springboard for a real painting

Have to say I don't see the point of having this option on camera though & I'd probably never use it

I haven't yet Eliot.I'm kind of afraid to actually.I mean, what's not to like.I have always thought I needed to have a vf on a camera but I'm finding more and more I'm using the lcd on my O-MD.That one does articulate up which is great for street, but I think I could live without, especially a super high res lcd like yours.I actually think the price is fair, still lots of moola.

yeah i use the lcd a lot on my em5. im trying to force myself to use the evf more on my rx1 now, i think it helps me with some courage for street, lol
its like the people are looking at the camera, and not me. i tend to smile when i get uncomfortable, so if i use the lcd lower than my face, i just BEEM at the people and they inevitably look right at me, like "why are you smiling at me, CREEPER!" lol!!!

just one question. How in the world did you get all these shots and NOT realize you had this option on? Do you never review your shots or does the auto review just show the capture and the effects are processed as it writes to the card?

I think I'd use this function a LOT, but I would use RAW + JPEG so if I wanted a straight shot, I'd still have it.

i shut off the instant review so i wouldnt be obsessing and id be shooting
i shut off raw because i only ever had to use the raw in the rx1 files like 3 times total, so it just is hogging up space! lol and i was obsessing on that...
i must do things to eliminate obsessing... haha

i kinda wish it had the art filter bracketting like the em5
not that you always want 5 copies of every pic, but sometimes its neat to see how the camera sees things so you can work it in as needed later

These make for a very interesting set of pictures, the sharpness of the lens still manages to shine through oddly enough. I like the figure on the bench.

thats because this lens is made partially out of ground unicorn horn
i swear you could rub butter on it and still manage a sharp photo

its fun :) and the more fun the better!

I assumed you didn't have the evf for it.Now we ARE talking big bucks!

No I got he evf as well. I talked myself into thinking of it as a sign that the store had both, so I must buy the camera(since so many online were flipping out trying to find an evf in stock) lol
I'm mental like that. :D
