Ricoh Teles on the M module

Hi all, new member alert,
I want to use my Canon,Nikon and Leica primes on a digital body. I'm at a place where it looks like either the GXR or a NEX is the way ahead.
The lenses are 50mmf1.2,85mmf1.2,105mmf2.5,135mmf2 and 180mmf4. Also a Leica 5606.8 and an old Minolta 200mmf4 but they're probably only going to get very occasional use so it's not a deal breaker here.
Am I heading in the right direction here? I would like ideally to use the Ricoh as I imagine it will handle better, those Sony's just look un-ergonomic,however, the EVF on the Sony is a better option by all accounts which would help me focus being used to viewfinder systems from the SLR's I still have. Are the Ricoh and Sony EVF's interchangeable?
Thanks for reading,
Steve

The EVF's are not interchangeable, unfortunately. The longest lens I use on the M-module is 75mm, and even that takes some practice to focus with peaking. But when you nail it, the images are amazing.

ive used the 90/4 leica elmar-c and had no problem, with really lovely results. the gxr has 2 peeking methods plus peeking plus frame enlargement, which is what i use. the evf is not the best, but it also doesnt get in your way.

lately ive had some luck with the sankyo 135/2.8 using the above peeking plus enlargement method. ive tried to keep my teles as small and light as possible. then its just a matter of working on your method of 'bracing and breathing'. but theres nothing about using a gxr with teles that is inherently more difficult than with other compact manual focus cameras.

Hi Tony, Sorry I am months late with this response but it was unavoidable. Thanks for your response. I am now able to get back to my GXR and the question I posed. Which peaking method are you using? Does the enlargement work with the EVF as well as the camera back (can't think of the proper name. I have the add on viewfinder and my question is, does enlargement work with it or only the camera itself. Is that clear? Regards, Jack

mode 2, 4x magnify all should be able to nail focus >95% of shots on either EVF or LCD. I have no problem at any focal length, I do try to stay with lens <500g.

alex is a much better photographer than i. however, i personally am not comfortable with mode 2 which is a kind of super contrast black/white xray image. i personally need to actually see the scene kinda like it 'is', so i use mode 1, which also works with either evf or lcd. the fact that you have both, and real people use both, is just another plus for the gxr.

plus jack, ive played around with the sony at camera stores, and for me, in my subjective way, i dont like the ergonomics with mf lenses, as you asked about. its just too small...
