Hello All,

I have had Serious Compacts on my half dozen sites I visit on a daily basis for a few months - about time I said hello. This most be one of the politest and most knowledgeable sites around and I hope I will be able to contribute.
For information current camera gear is limited to Sigma DP2M and Sony RX100 although I have Ricoh GR on order and expect to borrow a Pentax Q for a while. I am a Pentax user from old film camera days but stopped taking anything but occasional snapshots for about 20 year and started getting back into photography a few years ago. I see the Dogs thread is a few pages behind The Requisite Cats thread so will see what I can do to give the dogs a boost :)

I can't look at the Dog's thread. I can't even stand the title. It make's the Pink Floyd song by the same name stick in my head. DANG IT! IT'S BACK! ARRRRGGGHHHH!!!!

Oh... and WELCOME! lol

Hi Simon

Welcome to Serious Compacts. What genre of photography most floats your boat? I like all sorts so generally I am easy to please! Looking forward to your contribution to the dog thread and whatever else you wish to share.

Hello Karen,

Thanks for the welcome. I just looked at some of your B+W work on flickr - your Dubrovnik set WOW. I will go look at more when I get back - will you mind questions ? For me no particular genre, but after 3 years of chasing pixels slowly getting my head around to taking photos when I see something that impacts me, if that makes sense. I expect over time that will define what gets me going. Do you still have your RX100 ?

Thanks,

Simon

Thanks Simon. I had a great time in Dubrovnik and would definitely recommend a visit there if you haven't already been. I still have my RX100 and a Pentax Q. I don't mind questions but can't guarantee I will always know the answer. Folk here are good at answering questions though so fire away with any you have and one of us will be able to help, I'm sure.
