Street and Urban with a fast zoom and a Fuji X.

Hi all.


Recently did a lens swap with a fellow forum member from down the hall at mu43....nice to meet a fellow photo nerd and it's really great having someone nearby to swap gear with. Anybody in Melbourne have an RX1 they can swap for a week ?
Worked out really well, for a week i swapped out my Pana 7-14 and got his Pana 12-35 in return. Small, sharp, versatile wide to normal range zoom .....AND weather sealed. A really fantastic small travel kit solution, especially for a ski bum like me.

I took the X100S with me as well and have posted some shots taken with the Fuji too.
Really enjoy shooting with both the m43 premium zoom and the X100S....very different in so many ways, even though both could easily serve the same purpose....travel/documentary shooting.

Very nice Joe. I really like the first one and the shot tower. I don't like using zooms enough to ever spring for that 12-35, but if I did, that one would be on my short list.

That is a bloody marvelous set. I recognised most of the Melbourne shots from before I became interested in photography. I am back there next month or month after on a 2 month tour of Aus' with Mrs Petach.

Would be great to meet up for a coffee and maybe do some shooting

When I get home in September I want to do a bit of gear streamlining. The 12-35 is still very much in the "maybe" pile, but it does seem a little pointless to buy something like this when I won't be travelling again for a while. It sure looks like a great piece of kit in Joe's hands.

Pete. Sounds terrific, be sure to stay in touch and if in fact you do end up having a bit of free time in Melbourne, would definitely love to catch up over a coffee (you know we have the best coffee in the world right?) and some all round photo-nerdery.
