Hi everyone. Which antivirus software runs on your computer?
As to me, right now I'm running AntiVir Free Edition, but I will give Avast 6.0 a try.
Is / has anyone using/has used Antivir Cloud from Panda ? (I did).

I have had my computer for over 3 years and never had anti virus software and never had a problem, but then again i run a Mac!:D

My computer engineer friend recommends AVG Free

I'm running MS Security Essentials on all three of my computers, but Avira free would be my next choice.

I have installed MS Sec Essentials on my computers, after that I did not get access to my start-up programs. Do you?
That's the reason to move to AntiVir again.

Oh boy Andy, do you never check for spam, virusses, etc online or offline?
Do you use any cleaner software? I do! Ccleaner !

Hi Herman. I've been using the free version of Avira for around four years now with no problems.

Olli hi, thanks for your reply, I have been using Avira (like you) for many years.
I like the new features of Avast (sandboxie).
By the way I have installed Sandboxie on my computer!

There is a lot of freeware available for MS operating systems.
How about freeware for Mac? Is it limited?
Is Mac word, Mac excel, Mac PP, etc compatible with MS, will it run on computers equiped with MS operating system?

as far as I'm aware there is only 1 Anti Virus product available for the Mac. As Viruses are just not an issue for us Mac users we never go looking for anti virus software. The Mac's operating system is based on Linux which is the most secure OS available.

I bet i get a virus now!! :laugh1:

Most types of software are available for Mac. MS do Office for Mac and there are a fair few free programs that emulate windows versions of software. The thing with Mac software is this....

A windows program may have 20 different companies versions but there will only be 1 or 2 for the Mac. You can still do most things with Macs. Lightroom and now other programs come with 2 discs, a windows version and a Mac version.

I have had my iMac for over 3 years and i have never had such a stable, easy to use, reliable, good looking, intuitive PC in my life. It's such a hassle free (almost) PC. No PC is perfect but this is as close as I have got. Yes they are expensive but i usually get through a PC every year to two years and this is still as good as when it was new which is why they hold their price used. I really do expect to be using it for the next 2-3 years if it doesn't go POP! So yes they are expensive to buy but cheaper in the long run.

OK, I knew "it" was inevitable - even here on the peaceful shores of Serious Compacts. ;)

Re antivirus software: I think that I already posted that I use Virus Barrier X6 by Intego. I just renewed. I have never had a virus problem ever but ya never know. My Mac computer pal recommended Virus barrier to me...so that's my story and I'm stickin' to it.:D
