I'm sorry but I have to get this out.

I held this shot up to my bathroom mirror.

Jpg, no noise reduction, no sharpening, virtually no color or contrast corrections...one handed with 1/80 ss, wide open at f/2.

Just stunning.

This makes mincemeat out of my 5D mark III....I can see why this thing costs what it does....

No post processing? It does look really good! Of course beauty is in the eye of the beholder and all that but I know what you mean about usually at least having to up the contrast and add some structure or something... Love the rich colors!

I did bring it into LR, and I bumped the contrast about 10%, 21% clarity and that's it...slight lowering of the blacks and white/highlight but really, I could have done without even that...it's that good.

Great for a "bathroom portrait". Your very large hands make it clear how very tiny the RX1 actually is.

It really is, especially after hefting a 5DIII but I have to say I'm LOVING no shoulder pain...all the fire power of a howitzer in a pop gun package!

I'm getting my grip next week and that should help a LOT...

I often think that camera manufacturers are not quite "getting" it when it comes to small cameras. I actually don't mind the handling of the RX1, but in general, I like my small cameras to be bigger. It's the weight that I hate. So I say take this dense little awesome body and offer a featherweight ENORMOUS grip. Something that I can really wrap my knuckles around.....and have it add a few inches in height as well.....my 2 little fingers get cramped up curling them around BENEATH the body like that. Maybe it's just me, but I prefer bigger bodies for the comfort of my hands and placement of buttons and dials. The reason I like small cameras is not for the tiny bodies, but the overall weight reduction of the kit.

I'd agree. If they'd have added about 1" or 1.5" vertically to this and contoured the body slightly, I'd be in heaven. A built in viewfinder might have been nice too :)

Oh, I think the camera makers are getting it alright - for thier home market. The U.S. is still a sizeable market for them but it's no longer their biggest market. Asia is. And tiny cameras are what go over big in that region.
