Sony RX100M2 wireless capabilities

I have tried both the playmemories on smartphone and the wireless import on the computer
Playmemories on iPhone is straightforward lets you select the pictures and movies you want for upload and it is fast. Does not require a wireless network you can just point the devices at each other which is great to display your pics on an ipad or tablet
The computer import seems temperamental. It wants a wireless network to exist but when you push the pictures it times out frequently
I wonder of anybody has tried it yet and had better experiences?

I've had the opposite problem: I finally got the wireless import working on my Mac (after several reboots), but the PayMemories Mobile app does not work. I have it installed on my iPhone and I'm able to connect to the RX100M2 over wi-fi. Unfortunately that's as far as I get; when I try transferring photos to the phone it just 'hangs'. Same issue when I try to remotely control the camera using PlayMemories. I spent over an hour on the phone with Sony support trying to resolve this and they finally gave up (trying to tell me there's radio interference nearby causing it not to work!).

Did you do anything special to get PlayMemories working on your iPhone?

OK I got mine working with the iPhone. I have an iPhone5 and it operates on an LTE cellular network. I temporarily disabled cellular data and guess what - I was able to connect to the camera using PlayMemories Mobile.

I also tested with my wife's iPhone4 (non LTE) and here's what I've found:

-iPhone5 with cellular data enabled & LTE enabled: does not connect
-iPhone5 with cellular data enabled & LTE disabled: does not connect
-iPhone5 with cellular data disabled: connects
-iPhone4 with cellular data enabled: connects

It's inconvenient having to disable cellular in order to transfer photos and/or remotely control the camera, but at least there's a workaround.

I hope this helps anyone else who is having issues.

I have an iPhone 5 and experience none of those problems with firmware 6.1.4
Likewise no issues with iPhone 4
So I think the problem lies with your phone

iOS 6.1.4 here also on the iPhone5... I guess it could be my phone but it's nothing obvious. As long as I have the workaround I'm OK though.
