DAY SEVEN - Silver September 2013

ReD

Hall of Famer
Bit early but I’m on Aussie time here …

I was in our garden today looking for a suitable photo subject when this young Aussie guy turns up telling me his Mum’s family used to live in my house 40 years ago before they emigrated.

Would I mind if he took some photos for the folks back home?

“Have you got a minute?” I asked.

Shot on the 6th at the Brenke Fish Ladder in Lansing, MI. This guy saw me with my camera and introduced himself and his three dogs. The youngest sat on his lap, while the older ones were running around. Sadly, I forgot all of their names! We had a nice chat, and he said I should hang around as he left, because I'd have a great shot. I don't know that it's a great shot, but it sure was a great moment. I'm cheating today and posting two shots:

I have to say it again: it is such a pleasure to look at the photos in the Silver September thread!
Thanks everyone

I was so inspired I have decided to shoot all of September in B&W haha

Eye eye

A quick grab shot as I'm preparing to travel to north Devon for a reunion of guys from throughout the south west of England who started their engineering apprenticeships with the late lamented Central Electricity Generating Board (the former nationalised power generator for the whole of the UK) 50 years ago this last week.

I like this a lot... I'm not much of a street-shooting fan, but trains & subways (and what's going on around them) often interest me.
