perishing cold but beautiful dawn - X100S

Maldon in Essex. Recorded as a town since before the Romans. Dawn over the waters providing Hythe Quay with berthing for old Thames Barges. It was pretty cold, my fingers went blue. But I was compelled to stay

THIS is why the X100S ain't gonna go!!!!! When it is on its mettle and properly "tuned"....it is hard to beat for quality

you do some great work with the S pete, and this is no exception. may i inquire what you mean by 'tuned'? further, have you used the regular x100, and if so, whats your opinion of how the S compares?

Hi Tony, thanks. What I mean by tuned is....I have read Rico's comments about shooting the X100S and abided by his recommendations. Seems to work. I refer in the main to auto iso and the dynamic range....also settings for colour, sharpness, highlights etc. Rather than shoot and hope for the best..

I have never used the X100.....not sure if that can be considered an escape or a loss.

Cheers
Pete

Stunning shots once again Pete, proving that the early bird definitely catches the worm ;) I like my warm bed, after the station run I sometimes even return to it with my cuppa tea, never any thoughts of tramping out in the cold!
