Hi to all

I am new to Sigma DP Merrill series. I used to be using Ricoh GRD3 and GRD4. I am a foodie and love to use the 1cam macro with my GRD camera. If I am planning to do the same thing, may I know
Which DP Merrill should I get, in order to get decent food macro pictures ?

Please kindly advise ASAP.

Many thanks in advance.

I think the DP2M would be the best for food photography. It's close focus distance is 28cm which isn't super close, but it's longer focal length will get you in on the plate of food pretty quickly. Here's an example of what the DP2Merrill can do with food photography (the shot is not mine)

I received a refurbished DP2M yesterday, which I got from gwcameras on eBay for £300. I've been thinking about buying one for a while, and current prices are irresistible. I've only taken a few shots, but I'm very impressed.

I hope you enjoy your DP3M - I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Thanks fiddler..I think it will suit me down to the ground to be honest..and that image quality!!!!!! Got mine from Park cameras in the end as most places are selling out fast or they only have pre ordered stock, clifton cameras have sold loads of Merrills since the price drop as have srs. Likewise enjoy your dp2 m,I nearly went for the 2 but like the focal length and macro ish ability of the dp3.

Did you get it from the London store of Park Cameras or Burgess Hill? I work in both but have been up in London for the past 3 months.

So would that apply to mine then, will I get the 3 years if they do it. Going to see how I go with the 2 batteries for now.Thinking of picking up the marumi +5 macro filter, they any good?
