Canon Harvest Festival Parade

Location
Talent, Oregon (far from the madding crowd)
Name

The small town where I live, Talent, Oregon, celebrates its farming roots every October with a Harvest Festival, complete with an old fashioned parade down Main Street. They've been doing this for almost half a century now, and it brings geezers, tractors, and toddlers out of the woodwork. It all starts with the local high school band marching along, instruments held high -

They're followed by an ancient but still functional fire engine -

Then the older cars come out. Most driven by people who are not biologically young anymore. With the occasional bevy of more mature ladies who seem momentarily transported back to earlier eras of their own babedom -

And everywhere you turn, flags are fluttering -

And in our post-modern new-Millenial age of mpg-conscious Hybrid vehicles, it's fun to see gargantuan metal Detroit behemoths who aren't ashamed of their single-digit mpg's -

And in case unruly photographers get out of hand, certain Parade officials are more than ready to put them in their place -
