Was wondering if someone could help me out. I did some researching to find out what mount it was and it came up with an M42 mount. I have an X-T1 so I bought a M42 to Fuji X adapter. But the lens doesn't come close to fitting into the adapter. Am I doing something wrong or did I buy the wrong adapter?

This is the adapter I bought. http://www.amazon.com/Fotasy-AF42-A...ount+Lens+to+Fujifilm+FX+Mount+Camera+Adapter

Here is a site I found for some information on the Rikenon lens. Ricoh EE Rikenon 135mm F/2.8 M42 lens

I also purchased a Minolta 50mm f1.7 and got the adapter at the same time for it and it works perfect.

The Rikenon (I think) was available in several different mounts. Could you take a photo of the mount side and share it here to make sure it is an m42 screwmount? Or compare your lens against the ones in this helpful article...... http://www.kehblog.com/2011/12/lens-mount-guide-part-1.html

Also, how close is "not even close". In one of the 5 reviews on Amazon, the reviewer's copy was 2mm off and wouldn't take the lens..... Amazon.com: Customer reviews: Fotasy Adjustable M42 Lens to Fuji X Adapter, 42mm Screw Mount Lens to X Mount Adapter Compatible with Fujifilm X-Mount X-Pro1 X-Pro2 X-E1 X-E2 X-E3 X-A5 X-M1 X-T1 X-T2 X-T3 X-T10 X-T20 X-T30 X-H1

Here is a shot of the mount, I hope this helps.

And when I say its not close, the only way to get it into the adapter is to pull the silver ring of the adapter out and put the lens on but then of course there's no way to make it tight.

Let me know if that is good enough or if i should try for a better shot. I really appreciate all of your help.

Not a Canon FD because they were a reverse bayonet mount (camera body male, lens female). Ricoh (nee Rikenon) also made SLR cameras that used the Pentax K mount, but I'm not sure if that is the mount that we are looking at here either.

Jared, I can't say exactly what you have there, but I believe it is likely a Pentax K mount or the variant Ricoh R-K mount. You can read more than you'll ever want to know about them here....... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pentax_...enon_-_Riconar

Lots of knowledgable Pentaxians at the Pentax Forums could probably help you out with this photo....it may be worth signing up just to find out. Here's a discussion about some of the bayonet mounts..... http://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/1...what-what.html

I am not sure if anyone makes a mount adapter for what you have there. So you may be out of luck with the lens, but the adapter you have will allow an enormous selection of m42 screw mount lenses to be used on your Fuji. Good luck in your search.
