Let the fireworks begin. I took my tripod and set up the camera to fire via the smartphone app.

Rather than start a new thread with the same intent... here's the stuff from the long 3-day weekend. For the night of the fourth, I brought the venerable old X100 out, along with the XT1 and 56 f1.2 lens. Nothing else.

(X100) We had to bike a tandem kayak across Boston. Long story...

(XT1 + 56) Biking the kayak. Dicey, but we managed it.

(XT1 + 56) Daughter and a friend, hanging out before we launched the boats.

(X100) Paddling out to pick up the Mrs, meet up with the 4 other kayaks' worth of friends, and watch Boston's fireworks from the middle of the river, right under them.

(XT1 + 56) The XT and the 56 were both more suitable tools for capturing images in the dark than the X100, but the length of the 56 wasn't ideal. My 35 was loaned to a friend, otherwise that's what I would've had. Still, its sharpness and speed was superior by a decent margin, looking at the images later in post. Noise control on the T is better, too.

What a great addition of photos. Looks like your weekend was just as lovely.

Really nice pictures. This is the first year I don't have any pictures from the fourth. We ended up staying home and lighting a bunch of fireworks. Since I did the lighting, I wasn't taking any pictures.
