Rijksmuseum with iphone6s

pniev

Student for life
I had not been in the Rijksmuseum for a long time. Yesterday my wife and I finally visited the renovated museum. We've been in quite a few museums but this one definitely belongs to the top! The building is just beautiful and the collection of 16th and 17th century paintings is spectacular. There is also a huge collection of the Middle Ages.

I wanted to try the iphone6S camera so I did not to bring the camera with me. It is pretty clear that the phone cannot keep up yet with the bigger sensor cameras indoors. But hey, it was convenient. I must admit that I have to get used to a different way of taking photos. One thing I need to learn is how to adjust shutter speed. Most photos were taken at 1/35sec so blurriness is visible.

Herewith an impression:

Looks like you didn't have any problem with noise at all. I got another camera app called Cortex that takes a series of images in a couple seconds and merges them. It does an amazing job in ultra-low light.

I'll check that one out. For this series I used the standard camera app of Apple.

Yours are looking great - you probably have really good PP.

Thank you.

pp steps:
1. Move files from Photos library to Lightroom
2. Import in LR without any preset
3. Apply VSCO Fuji astia preset (could have done that during import but I wanted to check first)
4. Crop/straighten

Nothing else. But there is definitely noise in photos and lack of sharpness when I look at 100%

A few more...

Believe it or not, but this is a detail of an oil painting on canvas, the Allegory of the Sciences by Gerard de Lairesse (1641-1711). Painted ca. 1675-1683. The painting was made for the decoration of the house on the Herengracht owned by merchant Philips de Flines.

The Allegory of the Sciences is incredible, looks so 3D and almost carved out of marble.

Indeed. I had to look a couple of times as I did not believe it was a painting. An incredibly skilled painter. I may go back and take photos of the various details of the painting (it's huge)

PS: my apologies. I thought I had responded but apparently I did not.
