1) The family farm in Awendaw SC, with resident alligator.
2) Portion of Charleston Harbor, with a couple of unique boats. Bad light, fake sky.
3) Product shot - perched on a menu at Cracker Barrel.
4) Family farm.
5) Mt. Pleasant SC from Ravenel bridge. Shot at dusk at 1/4 second handheld. Extremely difficult because walkway is on opposite side of bridge, so shooting here across the bridge and a hi-rise apartment complex. Bridge/freeway divider is the grey strip at bottom.
6) View of Patriots Point at Charleston Harbor. The walkway has been closed for 2 years.
7) Pigeons.
8) Famous bridge from new angle. I widened this to make the view look less like I was shooting at a bad angle. The noise was bad, and I did shots with and without Long Exposure Noise Reduction.

Two more photos at dusk - the first is a large new complex finishing construction, with water access and projected high rents. #2 looks like a pano, but it's just one frame cropped, looking down on Charleston Harbor. It was supposed to be B&W, but for some reason the tonality gave me trouble.

Thanks for all the inputs on this, looks like a good option. How's the operation speed? Zoom, focus, shutter lag?...

Performance is exellent in any reasonable light - bursts are very fast, autofocus is good but not blazingly fast, the zoom takes time so if you want to zoom in on a bird that's flying by, you'd need at least 2 to 3 seconds lead time. Manual focus is OK because of the enlarged screen, but in low light at a distance where "infinity" would be appropriate, it takes some experimentation to figure out where on the red line to move the focus bar (hard to explain, but they really need to make that setting more positive and clear).
